Description
Rare and important Chinese antique wall hanging / sculpture. This piece consists of intricately hand carved jade, teak, coral, mother of pearl, quartz and lapis lazuli on a lacquered wood background. The image is of birds and flowers (plum blossoms) depicting the winter season.
The piece measures approximately 36 inches by 18 inches with a frame that is 1.5 inches thick. It does have brass hardware and weighs a total of 13.5 pounds.
It does appear that piece below the lapis lazuli is missing and there is some slight loose-ness of the wood but this in no way detracts from the beauty or value of the work of art.
