Vintage Japanese Ivory Netsuke - Man & Boy

Incredible vintage Japanese Netsuke of a man and boy. This is hand carved, made of ivory. It is vintage - early/mid 20th century - but I am unsure of the exact date. It is about 2 inches tall.

In very good condition, made certainly by a master craftsman. Signed on the base.

Netsuke tiny sculptures used to secure pouches to the kimono have long been an obsession for collectors in both East and West. They depict a variety of figures, both domestic and exotic, from marketplace tradesmen to otherworldly beings to perfectly rendered animals.

Please note that the ivory used in this piece is African Elephant Ivory. The item was lawfully imported and is lawfullly being sold.
