Marcelo Guerra- Torso 1

This auction is for an original and exquisite original, signed oil painting by world reknown Latin American Artist Marcelo Guerra Celis. His works are true masterpieces in the study of human form. Marcelo Guerra Celis is rapidly becoming one of the most popular and collectible of the 'new' important South American artists.

This painting, entitled "Torso I," features a strong male dancer's torso. This is an original signed piece measuring approximately 31 1/2 inches wide and 47 1/4 inches tall. It is stretch mounted but not framed.

Marcel Guerra Celis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Universidad Catolica de Chile. He then continued his studies at the University of Colorado and later did a post graduate degree at the University of Florence, Italy, both of which were the result of scholarships he was awarded.

Marcelo Guerra Celis is one of the winners of the competition organized by the Galery Agor of New York (2002) and later on he won first place in the competition organized by the Israeli Community of Santiago (2003).

To date his exhibitions, both individually and collectively, have numbered over 100 in Chile and abroad, including the United States, Mexico, Cuba, the United Kingdom, Israel, Italy, Switzerland, Colombia and Germany.

Marcelo Guerra Celis has done a series of murals at the Museo de Carabineros, Museo de Colchagua, Hotel Galerias and a series of Parishes which are part of the diocese of San Bernardo.
