Spanish-born artist Ignacio Burgos is one of the most renown contemporary artists – Latin or otherwise. His works, which portray anonymous men, women and children, in everyday activities evoke deep emotion, empathy and interest in the subjects. His paintings are vibrant, alive and exciting while at the same time provide the viewer with a chance to view the subjects in often private moments. Through his signature style of seemingly accidental splatters and drips, Burgos creates art that is, at the same time, both universal and personal. Ignacio Burgos is truly one of the foremost artists of his generation.

Ignacio Burgos was born in Madrid, where he is currently based (he lived in New York City between 1995 and 1998). He works in different locations within Spain. He has exhibited his work in Madrid, Barcelona, and Ibiza in Spain, as well as Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, London, Tokyo, Paris, and New York City and has published four major catalogues since 1995.
